The developers of the cooperative adventure Gangs of Sherwood talked about the adaptation of legends about Robin Hood

The publisher of Nacon and the developer of Appeal Studios released a new video dedicated to the cooperative adventure game Gangs of Sherwood. In the video, the game director Andrea Di Stefano and art director Michael Defroyenn talk about how they adapted the legend of Robin Gude.

In Gangs of Sherwood, gamers can choose the role of the four most famous heroes of the legend: Monk Taka, Little John, Virgo Marian and, of course, Robin Guda. The developers’ teams also wanted to emphasize the surprisingly rich knowledge of legends, including less famous characters, such as Alan-A-Dail. No less attention was paid to the antagonists such as the charismatic Guy Gizborn, who is usually depicted by the killer accused of the murder of Robin Hood, and the abbess of Kirklis, who is allegedly responsible for the death of Robin Hood.

The plot of Gangs of Sherwood is a unique interpretation of the legend of Robin Hood. This is a military history in which heroes are leaders of resistance to the evil sheriff notingham. Technological progress plays an important role in the world, which adds a science fiction dimension to the medieval world of the game.

“The new technology has become possible thanks to the lion’s heart, a unique stone brought from the Crusades, which can be used to convert metal and give it magical properties,” said Andrea Di Stefano. “This rapid technological progress led to a revolution in transport and how war unfolds. In our case, this has a great influence on the battle, how the characters interact with enemies, and on the force that they can release, which leads to explosive and spectacular battles ”.

During their adventure, players will explore many amazing places, some of which, of course, will be familiar. As Michael Defroyen explains:
